The 18-hole course at Holtsmark was designed by Robert Trent Jones II, and has been named Norway's best course by GolfDigest in 2019 and 2020.

30 minutes from Sandvika and 20 minutes from Drammen lies the fantastic Holtsmark golf course. A layout that is praised by virtually all golfers regardless of level means that this course just has to be experienced. The NM course in 2020 offers challenges for everyone, and gives you a completely unique golf experience.

Distance measurements
The following distance measurements in the fairway are made to the center of the green.

White 200 meters
Yellow 150 meters
Red 100 meters

Other distance measurements are made to the front of the green. All distance markings on sprinkler caps in the fairway are to the front and center of the green.

Which tee should you use at Holtsmark Golf?

MEN

Rash 40
This is a new tee from the 2022 season. We have listened to guests and members. This tee is very suitable for those of you who do not hit so far. Easy to get the ball into play from the tee. Beginners and those of you who do not drive further than 120 meters are recommended to use this tee.

Rash 47
This is a «friendly» tee. Suitable for anyone with hcp 30 and above. Ladies and slightly experienced men's players are recommended to use this tee. The course is then played about 4700 meters.

Rash 52
This is a tee suitable for those with hcp between 36 and 20. Senior golfers are recommended to play from this tee. The course is then played about 5200 meters.

Rash 58
This is a tee shot that is suitable for men with an HP of 20 and below. From this tee, you should have a driver that hits over 200 meters. In addition, some of the par 3 holes from tee 58 will be from 150 - 170 meters. The course is then played approximately 5800 meters.

Rash 63
This is the longest tee shot on the course and is only suitable for elite players. Here you should be able to hit a drive of over 250 meters. The par 3 holes are played up to 200 meters from this tee. The course is then played approximately 6300 meters.

WOMEN

Rash 40

Rash 47
This is the shortest tee shot on the course. Suitable for anyone with hcp 20 and above. The course is then played about 4700 meters

Rash 52
This is a tee shot that is suitable for those with hcp between 10 and 20. Here you should have a drive that goes longer than 160 meters. The course is then played about 5200 meters.

Rash 58
This is the longest women's tee shot on the course and is only suitable for elite players. Here you should be able to hit a drive of over 200 meters. The par 3 holes are played up to 170 meters from this tee. The course is then played approximately 5800 meters.

Hull 1

Hole description

This par 5 hole offers several challenges. If you have a low hcp, it may be tempting to reach the green in two shots. The safest way is to lay up to the left of the bunkers 100 meters from the green. Watch out for deep ravines on both sides of the green.

Hull 2

Hole description

Par 4 with a wide fairway that goes slightly uphill. One of two holes on the course without bunkers.

Hull 3

Hole description

Difficult par 3 with deep canyons between tee and green. The long green with three plateaus requires the right club selection. If you're unsure, play out to the left.

Hull 4

Hole description

The course's signature hole. Short par 4, with a small and very undulating green. Large bunkers along the entire right side. It's a good idea to aim for the left side of the green.

Hull 5

Hole description

Demanding par 3 with the largest green on the course. Yet not so easy to hit. The wise golfer always aims for the left side of the green.

Hull 6

Hole description

Short par 5 that gives hope of birdie or better. You'll quickly be fooled by the large bunkers and red stakes on the entire right side. At the tee, you can aim for the high-voltage pylons on the horizon.

Hull 7

Hole description

Demanding long par 5 with undulating fairway. Beautiful hole with many bunkers and a small green. From the tee it is out of bounds to the left. Red marking to the right of the green.

Hull 8

Hole description

Long par 4 with a wide and inviting fairway. The entire green area slopes to the left.

Hull 9

Hole description

Nice par 3 hole where the length offers challenges. The ball must be in the air up to the green otherwise you end up in the deep ditch in front of the green.

Hull 10

Hole description

Relatively short par 4 hole. From the 63 and 58 tees you have a fantastic view up towards the green area. The hole is often used for the “longest drive”. Remember to use one more club on the approach due to the difference in level.

Hull 11

Hole description

Short par 4 where you should aim slightly to the left of the birch. The green is very small and difficult to hit. To the left of the green there is a deep ravine that makes it difficult to find the ball. The safe approach is in the middle of the green.

Hull 12

Hole description

The most beautiful par 3 hole on the course. Short, but with two large bunkers that often catch the balls. There is plenty of room behind to the right of the green.

Hull 13

Hole description

Narrow and difficult par 4, where the normal golfer should lay up slightly to the left on the tee. Long hitters can aim over the ball to the right. The green is long and very narrow.

Hull 14

Hole description

After a tough walk, you must now have some energy left for a long drive. Long par 4 where the green lies deep in the valley on a large and open green area. Red markings along the entire left side of the fairway.

Hull 15

Hole description

A very exciting par 5. Possible to reach in two strokes for long hitters. The rest of us have to watch out for canyons and ditches 90 meters from the green on the left side.

Hull 16

Hole description

Short dogleg par 4 hole with a large and wide fairway to land on for most. If you dare, hit a little to the left and the approach will be very short. Red markings along the entire left side and behind the green.

Hull 17

Hole description

This beautiful par 3 hole is often referred to as the “nearest hole”. The green is surrounded by five hungry bunkers that will do anything to ruin your day.

Hull 18

Hole description

Just when you think you've got a good score going, one of the course's most spectacular holes remains. Long, narrow and with several large bunkers on the way to the green. The average golfer should use an extra shot to the green.
