Facilities
Construction began in 1998 and the course was opened as a completed 18-hole course in 2005. The main course is a par 72 course of 6,298 m from the 63rd tee (back tee) and is situated in forest terrain with low ridges and deep ravines. This gives each hole its own distinctive character. The 18 holes are sheltered from each other and you can often get an exclusive feeling of being alone on the course.

There are many reasons to visit Holtsmark Golf. Situated at the end of the fertile Lier delta about 20 km from Drammen and about 35 km from Sandvika, the course offers golfing pleasures and challenges in scenic surroundings.
Holtsmark Golf is proud to be ranked as the best among the ten Norwegian courses that made it to GolfDigest ranking. Course designers Robert Trent Jones II has focused on designing the main course's 18 unique holes with different types of challenges. He highlights the five par 3 holes and the two long par 5 holes (holes 7 and 18) as particularly successful. The course has varied tees and appeals to players of all ages and skill levels.
The 9-hole course is sloped and HCP counting when playing
At the entrance to Holtsmark Golf is «Eplehagen», an open and relatively flat 9-hole course with three par 4 holes and six par 3 holes. The holes are varied, with demanding greens. The course provides beginners with good training opportunities for both short game and longer club shots. Players with lower handicaps are happy to practice shots with short irons. There are no requirements for HCP or VTG courses to play the 9-hole course.
Complete training areas
Holtsmark's members and guest players can enjoy the large training area between the clubhouse and «Eplehagen». The almost 300-meter-long driving range has 25 tees, and there are flags placed for training on length and direction.
The short game areas offer a large and undulating green with the possibility of putting from most positions. Pitch shots can be hit to a small green from up to 100 meters, as well as short and long green shots from the two large bunkers.
Cozy clubhouse with traditions
In the pro shop, you can supplement your equipment, stock up on provisions before your round or order a well-deserved treat for when you come in after your game. The clubhouse is a recent addition to the club, but the building is Sylling's oldest permanent school (from 1859). The building was taken down from its 154-year-old site in Syllingbakken, and rebuilt at Holtsmark where it now stands. In addition to the pro shop, the clubhouse has a great common room, full kitchen and good changing facilities. A large, sheltered terrace overlooking the greens on holes 6 and 18 is a popular meeting place both before and after the round.
