Handicap and Disciplinary Committee

The disability mandate ensures that you as a club member have the correct handicap at all times. Contact one of us in the committee if you have any questions.

The disciplinary mandate handles cases concerning violations of sports laws and regulations, as well as Holtsmark Golf Club's rules and values. Members and employees can submit a complaint or inquiry regarding breaches of rules, undesirable behavior or other matters covered by the committee's mandate. 

Golf is a sport that requires interaction between many people - both those you play with and those who are otherwise on the golf course. In accordance with normal norms and the laws of the sport, you must of course behave politely and follow the rules that exist. This applies to the entire golf course, including the driving range and clubhouse.

In between, some people experience cheating, breaches of ethical rules or unpleasant situations. If it is in a competition, the tournament manager/referee should be contacted. If the incident is related to the competition rules, the tournament leader/referee will decide the case.

If non-competitive situations arise, such as dangerous play, slow play, rude/aggressive behavior, cheating or other types of misconduct, a good starting point is normally to confront the person in a factual and polite manner. Depending on the seriousness of the case, the matter will often be settled there and then, with an apology or admission.

Sometimes, however, you disagree even after a chat. In such cases, members have the opportunity to contact the club's disciplinary committee. You can ask the person in question for their membership number, which everyone must provide upon request, whether they are a member of Holtsmark or another golf club. The committee will then consider further follow-up of the case based on severity and relevance.
