For 3 days we had high class tournament play on the pitch. It's incredibly fun to see good players «attacking» the pitch over 3 days.
Tuesday was the first day, and the players faced a heavy course after rain most of Monday. Nevertheless, we could present a course that the players bragged about. Fun setup, and general conditions that they liked. With an average score of 73.75 strokes, the course was set so that the players could «attack» some flags.

Wednesday was a big day for one player in particular. With an average score of 75.53, it was clear that the course was more difficult on day 2 of the tournament. For Frithjof Rasmussen, the course was obviously VERY easy on this day. When he entered the scoring area, he recorded a score of 62 strokes. -10 is a new course record here at Holtsmark. For it to be set by an amateur and a junior is absolutely fantastic. Frithjof thus put himself in an excellent position for the last day. He was going out in the lead ball.
Thursday was the last day, and with perfect playing conditions, the victory was up for grabs. After a -10 round on Wednesday, Frithjof had a tougher time on the last day. However, he ended up in a nice 4th place with a 74 round on the last day. After 72 holes had been played, the score was tied between Tobias Ruth and Simon Forsström. After the first replay hole, the score was still tied, and they had to tee off on hole 6 once again. This time, Tobias Ruth managed to outwit his opponent, and could therefore be crowned the winner of Holtsmark Open 2022. With scores of 68, 66 and 68, he could take home SEK 81,000 to Sweden.

The prize-giving ceremony went well and the winners received their well-deserved prizes. "It's fun that we as organizers get as much praise as we do. The Norwegian Golf Federation and the Swedish Golf Federation boasted a lot about us. The volunteers, the course, the organization, etc. all receive praise. The players were very satisfied, and they hope that they can come back to us again next season. Our course crew has done a fantastic job of getting the course up to a level that allows the Tour players to thrive with us. With a varied setup and challenges that give you rewards, the players were very satisfied.
Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to those of you who volunteer at such tournaments. Without you, we would not have had the opportunity to organize. You are very valuable to us.
