
The summer heat has arrived here at Holtsmark. With that in mind, we thought we'd give you a few tips on what to do.
Before the round
Before you arrive at the golf course, you should have had a good drink and a good meal. You may also want to pack an umbrella in your bag to give you some shade out on the course. Wear light clothing and apply sunscreen. Caps or sun hats are recommended.
During the round
Remember to drink often, but a little each time you drink. Your body is dependent on taking in fluids all the time. Do not only drink water. Fill up with energy drinks or sugary drinks. This gives your body more energy. In addition, it is important to eat during the round. If you're one of those people who lose their appetite in the heat, we sell protein shakes and protein bars in the shop that are great to take out onto the course. Use your umbrella to give you some extra shade.
It's also a good idea to remove your glove between shots. A sweaty and wet glove is not a good golf glove. It will appear slicker and the grip around the club may be poorer.
After the round
Continue to drink plenty of fluids for about 1.5 hours after you have finished playing. You need to replenish your «stores». Also, feel free to eat a light meal when you get home or have a nice snack with us. Change your shoes before you drive home. Golf shoes tend to be warm. Sandals are recommended to change into.
