Whats In The Bag Holtsmark- Bjørn L Bjerke

The media department of the men's group wants us to get to know each other better. That's why we're launching Whats In The Bag, where we present a member and his bag. It's a cool concept where we get to know each other better and it's always fun with equipment.

Regarding Equipment there are 2 rules according to Caddie Holm

  1. All equipment is good until you own it!
  2. A bad swing always wins over a good club!

Today we present Monster Master Bjørn L Bjerke's bag

5 questions about the bag and golf

Favorite club in your bag?

Almost have to say the putter. The most important club in the bag, it has to play in layers if you want to have a good round. The 54-degree wedge is also used a lot, with an input of 85-75m as well as a chipper, which also needs to be layered if I'm to have a good round.

A long-lasting club that never leaves your bag?

Everyone has been with us for the same length of time, 3 years. I have no problem replacing clubs if I find something that I think is more right for me.

What battle are you most looking forward to in a round?

I think the approach shot on hole 11 is fantastic. Here you need precision and you should land softly. When the approach shot with everything from 54gr to 7 irons lands on the green, it gives a great feeling. All the par 3 holes at HM are also fantastic, landing on the green usually gives you a par, if you miss you really have to fight...

Something you always have in your bag?

Water, rangefinder and food, important stuff for me ....

Who is your golf idol?

Almost have to highlight the young promising ones in Norway, Hovland, Ventura and Reitan will probably please us for many years to come.....

Caddie Holm comments on the bag

After wiping tears that streamed down my cheeks, tears of joy because this is a beautiful bag and could easily be mine. Let me explain. I know Driver, Hybba and Wood well-Titleist 917 series with 816 Hybba. Great series and perhaps the series that matched the 910 series which is iconic. The Mitsubishi shaft follows a common thread in the layout and is experienced equally for each club. Bjørn and his hybba are usually Game Over for the rest of us 🙂 But the 5:er wooden I wonder, similar in loft as the hybba and as good as Bjørn beats it-swap 5:wood to 3 Wood and have a good alternative from the tee if the driver is a bit twisted. 5:wood from the tee with a peg will be high and with a lot of spin, a little tip from caddie Holm there. The iron is the surprise in the bag-Ping Iblade! They were the successor to the S55 and here I recognize myself very much as I myself play on Ping i210. The introduction of Hydro Pearl Finish, tungsten in the toe and very «lick» design, these are beautiful and sexy irons. Sexy and beautiful is not what you think of when you hear the word Ping but they have really recovered. Newer models such as Ping Blueprint and i500 reinforce this. Of course, Bjørn follows up in a lovely way when it comes to wedges, the PW he uses is 46 gr and then it becomes 50-54-58, perfect! Ping Glide «slides» into the iron set in a very delicate way. The putter is usually hot when Bjørn plays, a Taylormade TP model, classic Anser head with a plumber neck - always works.

The bag is characterized by a common thread, we see it in the layout where model series are connected and the shafts are the same, note the same shaft in wegde as iron class! Most people fly around with «wedge flex» which for many is far too stiff and gives too little spin.

This bag was a real beauty and the owner has delivered!

We thank Monster Master Bjørn for the presentation of his bag and wish him lots of luck with his season at Holtsmark. After last season, it's clear-Bjørn is «The Man To Beat»
